FAQ
Clear answers before you commit.
The goal is to keep the website process straightforward: what you get, what is included, what costs extra, and what you own.
Do I own my domain?
Yes. Your domain should stay under your business name and your account. I can help connect it to the website, but you should remain the owner of the domain so you are never locked out of your own address online.
What does the $75/month include?
The monthly care plan covers hosting management, SSL, maintenance, monitoring, backups/version control, and up to 4 small update requests per month. It keeps the site online, secure, maintained, and easier to update after launch.
What counts as a small update?
Small updates are changes to existing content or simple site details. Examples include changing hours, phone number, address, prices on existing items, holiday hours, a short announcement, paragraph text, testimonials, social links, basic buttons, or swapping up to 5 photos.
What does not count as a small update?
New pages, full redesigns, new layouts, custom features, booking systems, online ordering, e-commerce, databases, login systems, major copywriting, large menu rebuilds, logo design, ads, and social media management are not included as small updates. Those items are quoted separately before work begins.
Can I cancel?
For the standard upfront package, ongoing website care can be cancelled after your paid obligations are current. The no-upfront plan is different: it is a 12-month website package paid monthly during the first year, not a cancellable month-to-month subscription during that first term.
What happens after the 12-month no-upfront plan?
After the 12-month term is fully paid, you can continue website care at $75/month or cancel. If you want a copy of the final static website files, you may request them after the 12-month term has been fully paid.
Can you update my menu, hours, prices, or photos?
Yes. Those are exactly the kinds of updates the client portal is built for. Most menu, hours, price, and photo updates are small updates unless the request becomes a larger rebuild, redesign, or new page.
Do you build online ordering or booking systems?
Yes, but those are advanced features and are quoted separately. A simple website is best for information, trust, and contact. Online ordering, booking, payments, customer accounts, and dashboards require a more custom setup.
Do you build WordPress websites?
Yes, when WordPress is the right fit. Most local businesses do not need WordPress just to have a professional online presence, but it can make sense if you need specific editing workflows, plugins, or a more dynamic content setup.
Do you guarantee Google rankings?
No. I build the site with a clean structure, mobile-friendly pages, basic local SEO setup, and clear business information, but I do not guarantee specific Google rankings, traffic, leads, sales, or revenue.
Do I need to manage anything myself?
Not much. You provide the business information, photos, logo, services, hours, and approvals. I handle the build, launch, hosting setup, SSL, maintenance, and update workflow. Your portal gives you one place to request changes later.
What if I already have a domain?
That is ideal. I can help connect your existing domain to the new website. If your current domain is with GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Squarespace, Google, Namecheap, or another registrar, we will use that account to update the DNS settings.
What if I only have a Facebook page right now?
That is common. A website gives customers a stable place to find your hours, menu, services, service area, phone number, photos, reviews, and contact options without depending on a social media page.
